News Details (Posted: February 17, 2007):
FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM REINSTATED
Full Description:
Washington Township's flood plane maps and other documents arrived late and were not submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by Sept. 29 and resulted to the removal of the township from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
The good news is, the township has been reinstated as of early last week because the late arrival of the necessary documents is a "common" occurrence.
Officials explained that township residents who have flood insurance remained covered throughout the period despite the township's absence Flood Insurance Program list.
